All of these American interviewers like “Suga is definitely the bad boy of the group. Aloof. Not paying attention to anything. Only smiles for the cameras because that’s what bands who are trying to take over America do.” First of all, he’s fucking tired. He just had a whole ass comeback and wrote/recorded songs while on a world tour and he tries so hard to stay positive for his fans and support everyone. He came to america from korea and was probably jet lagged like hell. Don’t come for him.
And I’ve seen new fans like “He looks like the least interested in what he’s doing. He doesn’t seem grateful.” Are you kidding? This man had to choose between eating and getting public transportation to the studio and shit. He grew up poor. His parents did not support his dream and he still went for it with everything he had in him. He pushed himself and pushed himself. He has been through depression so bad that he considered suicide. He has social anxiety and gets fidgety in interviews and only speaks in them when he is somewhat comfortable. He makes music so that people feel the passion behind it and feel that they are not alone. He supports everyone. When asked what he likes in a girl and given the choices ‘face’ and ‘body’ he wrote another option and put ‘personality’. He said his type is not limited to a woman. When asked how much he wanted his significant other to weigh? He wrote down a ridiculous number. You know why? Because he doesn’t care about that superficial shit. He’s the kind of person that just wants to know somebody and love them with his heart and soul. He is so incredibly sweet and kind. He spoke out on issues even when Namjoon tried to shut the question down. He wrote INDIVIDUAL notes and got gifts for fans on HIS birthday and got emotional when there weren’t enough for everyone.
He WORKED for this. He EARNED this. And you better realize that.
Why do people assume that just because Yoongi isn’t this cheery person that smiles all the time, that makes him an asshole? He is an AMAZING human being. Talented and smart and humble and just perfect the way that he is. Don’t you dare make him feel bad for that. Ever.

When the Nazi concentration camps were liberated by the Allies, it was a time of great jubilation for the tens of thousands of people incarcerated in them. But an often forgotten fact of this time is that prisoners who happened to be wearing the pink triangle (the Nazis’ way of marking and identifying homosexuals) were forced to serve out the rest of their sentence. This was due to a part of German law simply known as “Paragraph 175” which criminalized homosexuality. The law wasn’t repealed until 1969.

This should be required learning, internationally.

You need to know this. You need to remember this. This is not something to swept under the carpet nor be forgotten.

Never. Too many have died for the way they have loved. That needs stop now.

I did a report on this in my World History class my sophomore year of high school. It was incredibly unsettling.

My teacher shown the class this. Mostly everyone in the class felt uncomfortable.

I have reblogged this in the past, but it is so ironic that it comes across my dash right now. I a currently working as a docent at my city’s Holocaust Education Center (( I say currently because I’ve also done research and translation for them )) and out current exhibit is one on loan from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum ((USHMM)). This is a little known historical fact that Paragraph 175 was not repealed after the war and those convicted under Nazi laws as a danger to society because they were gay were not released because they had be convicted in a court of law. There was no liberation or justice for them as they weren’t considered criminals, or even victims for that matter. They were criminals who remained persecuted and ostracized and kept on the fringes of society for decades after the war had been won. Paragraph175 wasn’t actually repealed until 1994. And it was only in May 2002, that the German parliament completed legislation to pardon all homosexuals convicted under Paragraph175 during the Nazi era. History has forgotten about these men and women — please educate yourselves so this does not happen again. Remember this history. Remember them.

When I first opened it, I wondered why it was so thin.

This is one of the memorial sculptures in Dachau. It was erected in the early 60s and is missing the pink triangles. Because in the early 60s, homosexuality was still a crime in most of the world.
Our tour guide explained why the pink triangles have not been added later - if they were, then folks would assume that they had always been there. This way people ask “why aren’t there pink triangles?” and somebody can explain why - because in some ways, the rest of the world was as bass-ackwards as Nazi Germany.

Have two sketchbooks: One for finished and high-quality art (stuff made with Prismacolor or Copic if you use that or art for your portfolio) and the other sketchbook for more messy doodles. This way you have a place to try new things and mess up as much as you need. When I only had one sketchbook I was scared to draw in it because I didn't want to mess it up
Do studies. I cant tell you how much I've improved just by doing studies of shoes, hands, noses, and all that. This works for when you have art block too since you’re not really making stuff up and just learning how real things work.
Learn from others. I’ve never taken a real art class because 1. I can’t afford it and 2. there’s no good art classes/programs at my school. I’ve been following several artists and learning from them over the years and they’ve helped me tremendously. Just please do not steal art because that is never okay.
Break down concepts. If you notice there’s something wrong with your piece then figure out why. You can’t get better if you leave mistakes and don't try to understand whats going on. If the color is weird figure out if the values look right or maybe its the saturation of the color.
Watch youtube tutorials. Here are some youtubers I think are pretty good art teaching all things art:

Have an inspiration folder/blog. Sometimes you just need a collection of starry nights or a misty forest or even a French bakery. All of those things can help you get inspired to draw. It could even be completely unrelated to what you plan to draw.
There are no dumb ideas in the creative process. If you want to draw a lizard in a dress go for it! If you want to draw various pastries with faces do it! Don’t let the thought of it being too dumb stop you because if I’ve learned anything in my several years of drawing it’s that an idea can lead to another and another and another and you may get a really good idea just from doodling dumb things.

Here’s a few things that can get you started on drawing better:
Dynamic poses | Dynamic clothes | Dynamic figure drawing
COMPOSITION | PERSPECTIVE | CONSTRUCTION
